If you ask me, this is one of the most difficult topics to write about. As a citizen of the largest democracy in the world and as the mother of a 10 month old, I feel that this highly debatable, difficult and perceptibly idealistic topic is something that we must pay attention to.
Our values make up the very foundation of our society, something that we are an integral part of. Over the last few decades, we have experienced a shift in our entire value system. The hierarchy has shuffled, money and power have toppled the status of knowledge and honesty.
As a result, we are now living in a world where greed driven corruption has corroded every aspect of life. The situation (a.k.a the severity) varies from country to country and continent to continent but essentially, the story remains consistent.
Change is like ocean, made up of trillions and trillions of drops of small efforts by different individuals. Since society is just the cumulative identity of all of us, we hold the power of change within us.
Just as it is difficult to imagine the number of drops that make up the ocean, it is difficult to fathom change initially. When in doubt, remind yourself that if the negative change could happen, a positive one must be equally likely.
